Two Purchases
Last week, actually two weeks ago, I dropped my cell phone on the cement. I recall it bouncing twice after the initial impact, which was so hard its apex was practically six inches off the ground upon rebound. The backlight was still on, creating a light show as it swirled around in the air. When the phone hit the ground the second time, the backlight flickered off.
I picked it up, the phone wouldn’t turn on. I plugged it in the car charger, the phone turned on, showed the splash screen, then shut off. Dead. Goodbye text message history. Goodbye contact list, although it is nice that I have you backed up in an Excel spreadsheet at home. My thought process then turned to housing, and how many names I had added to the contact list since I backed it up last.
The phone is now replaced by the new BlackBerry Pearl. The phone is sleek, smooth, and perfect. It did set me back a bit, but I figure payinig a little extra for something that will stay in my pocket with me at all times is worth it.
Now to find a little jacket for the guy, I don’t want him ending up like my ipod. Yes, I did refer to my BlackBerry as “him”.
So that’s one purchase. The other one, well, is a house. I can’t say that it’s purchased yet, because paper work that the sale is conginent on is going through. But, if all goes smoothly, I will be a homeowner on Oct 20th.
More details to follow. Please understand though that this has and will continue to steal my blogging time.
