Thought of the day
Nine cars have been torched in Portland. My mind has been dwindling on the irony if this is caused by an extreme environmental person our group:
- All the pollution and toxins released into the air by 9 cars set on fire. Probably not too good to have fumes from all the burning plastics, chemical coolants, acid from the 9 batteries (etc) released into the atmosphere. Probably would have been much better for the environment if the cars were disposed of properly.
- The stress on the environment to create the energy needed to manufacture the nine new cars that will be replace the destroyed one, thanks to the owner’s insurance policy.
- The creation of the nonbiodegradable materials that will be used in the nine new cars.
- Most of the cars destroyed were imports (Honda CRVs). There is more energy needed to ship them from Japan to America.
Stop burning up cars, it’s bad for the environment! If you are an environmentalist, how can I take you seriously when you yourself are damaging the environment, one car at a time?
