Stop remixing McCoy Tyner. Stop it.

Context:
While listening to internet radio sites such as Pandora and Slacker, I keep hearing these DJs who poorly use McCoy Tyner snippets. In fact, I heard a whole song that was a remix ofWise One (off the album Crescent). Don’t get me wrong, I’ve heard some decent remixes of classic songs (ie Funky Drummer by James Brown). But taking a measure from a beautiful ballad piano solo, repeating it over and over, and adding a back beat is just wrong.

McCoy Tyner, for those of you who don’t know, is probably one of the top jazz piano players ever.
