After much thought…
I think that Sam Adams should step down as mayor. Thought process is as follows:
1 Sam Adam’s said he did not have a sexual relationship with an intern
2 Sam Adam now says he did have a sexual relationship with an intern, only after the story broke. Call the initial statement what you will (most people are saying “lie”).
3 Sam Adam now says that although he knew the intern when he was 17, that he did not have a sexual relationship with him until after his 18th birthday.
4 Because statement #1 is false, how can I be assured that statement #3 is true?
5 No matter what orientation you are, anyone in their 40’s persuing someone in high school I find pretty distrurbing.
To summarize, because of what has happened, I can no long rely upon his words. I’d like I mayor whose words I can rely on.

While I agree, you already have a mayor whose words you can rely on.
And if Mr. Pollard cruises anybody in high school, then he should quit, too.

Assuming we are leaving aside the fact that Sam Adams is not, in fact, our mayor, I disagree, for the most part. If he broke the law by having sex with a minor, then for sure, as a criminal, he should not be mayor. However, I don’t think any person’s sex life should be a determinant of their ability to do their job unless their job specifically involves their sex life (ya know, hookers ‘n’ such).
Plus, we set this precedent of booting people who have inter-office affairs, we’re going to need to replace the approximately 20% (depending on what studies you follow) of the population who are employed and have the same thing going on.
